Lakmé 9 to 5 Flawless Matte Complexion Compact - Review

Hello Ladies!!

I have a Corporate Job and as I mentioned before, I live in Chennai, India. One annoying thing about Chennai, apart from the traffic and pollution, is the fact that it is H.O.T... I am talking annoying, getting on my nerves sweaty hot...

Thankfully, at my job, the whole place is air-conditioned, so I usually apply my make-up at office.

I think that the most essential part of on-the-go makeup, is a good compact, unfortunately, like Ted from the sitcom, 'How I Met Your Mother', it seems like finding ‘the one’ is very long journey...... and while you are on this journey, you always wish you are at the end, when in reality, you never really know.

Well, anyway to the point at hand: I just bought a new Compact, though it has been a while since it was introduced into the market: Lakmé 9 to 5 Flawless Matte Complexion Compact. So, I thought I would do a review.

Before I start: I have oily to combination skin... And at the moment, my skin seems to resemble an oil factory.... (-_-).. Oh, and before I forget, I got it in the shade: "Melon Matte".

What Lakmé says behind the packaging: "With a unique oil absorbing formula that gives you a matte and flawless look throughout the day. Infused with Vitamin E to condition your skin."

Pros:
·        Gives a really nice Matte finish.
·        Powder is lightweight.
·        Evens out your complexion to an extent, better when used with Foundation.
·        Easy to blend.
·        Though my skin is  super oily, it didn’t cause my break outs.
·        Comes in a pretty Rose Gold packaging (I love Rose Gold <3 )

Cons:
·        On people with dry skin (a friend of mine has dry skin) can look chalky.
·        Doesn’t mention any SPF content.
·        Doesn’t give a list of ingredients.
·        It does not live up to the claim: 9 to 5 for oily skins
·        Comes in only 3 shades.
·        You might have to get a makeup sponge or makeup brush to apply the powder, cause the puff that comes with it is kinda cheap. And, a sponge blends it better.

Price: around, Rs. 350/-
Shades: Melon, Almond, Apricot

Bottom Line: Its ok for Normal to combination skin. For really oily skin, you might need a number of touch-ups throughout the day. But for that price, it’s a really good deal….

For any of you trying to buy a good compact and considering this one, I hope I have helped you reach a decision  J

Take Care!! Have a great day!!

Sincerely,
Hannah
